I have recently published several extracts from my BSc dissertation on Representational State Transfer (REST). The 9-post-series is entitled REST Principles.

Update: I have since composed a counter-article which highlights a major REST caveat when developing enterprise APIs. I recommend reading this if you plan on using REST commercially.

About Me

View Lawrence Wagerfield's profile on LinkedInHello and welcome to my blog. Here you will find several musings and personal conclusions on the theoretical side of software engineering and architecture. You will also find that unless you are a keen Software Engineer, you are unlikely to want to read past this first paragraph.

I aim to post entries which discuss concepts and principals as opposed to issues relating to specific technologies. With that said, most of the entries regarding programming will be object-oriented. It should also be noted that my current language of choice is C#, so .NET examples may be used on occasion. I will, however, leave these examples brief and at a high-level.

Last but not least, here’s a bit about me: I am a bachelor in Software Engineering with a restless curiosity for finding improvements in working solutions. I currently work on telemetry systems for McLaren Applied Technologies; a subsidiary company for one of the most successful teams in Formula One, whom as such share my precisionist outlook on software.

My previous agency experience was heavily focused on the design and implementation of Web Applications and Services. I may, therefore, digress onto the topic of Enterprise Application Architecture from time-to-time.

I hope you find this blog useful. Any questions, please contact me.
